A 17-year old loser named Steve Consalvi, (yes, a loser), ran onto the field at the Phillies game last night, and was tased as he tried to elude police.

Of course, for some reason that could not be any less clear to me, there are a group of people that think the police acted inappropriately and used excessive force.

Allow me to remind you of someone. Tom Gamboa. Go ask Gamboa if he thinks that people shouldn’t be brought down the second they come onto the field. Gamboa was coaching first base for the Kansas City Royals when a drugged-up loser and his kid charged the field and assaulted Gamboa. Gamboa lost the ability to hear in one of his ears from the attack.

Another name, Monica Seles. Go ask if she thinks that the police should take their time in subduing a maniac who gets loose on the field. Oh, that’s right, she got shanked in the back by some nut who wanted to kill her.

Are we really having this discussion?

The jerk-off who got to ride the lightning should be writing the police a thank you card for not shooting him. The guy should personally write each and every Philly and Cardinal player for not going after him and beating him into a wet mass in the outfield grass.

I don’t want to hear that he wasn’t threatening anyone. I don’t want to hear that he was just a kid. I don’t want to hear about how he asked his father for ‘permission’ (he did). No one on the field knew any of this. They see a guy on the field, running around like a lunatic. They have NO IDEA what he might be trying to do.

If you run onto the field, court, ice, or whatever, you are on their turf. You are not supposed to be down there, they don’t know what you are doing, and they have every single right to put you down with a taser, their fists, their Louisville Sluggers, whatever it takes..

Lastly, I am not down with networks' decisions to not show these fools on TV. They fear that it will only encourage other morons to do the same. Wrong. Show these chumps getting tased, show them getting rolled by police and maybe it will keep other imbeciles off the field. A good televised tasing can go a long way to keeping other idiots in their seats and away from the competitors.
